FIS360 Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Board of Directors and Advisory Group to advance the company’s position as an independent and trusted partner, bridging the gap between innovation and commercial success.

This strategic move broadens and diversifies the leadership of the organisation, leveraging the extensive external experience of new Chairman Gordon Short, alongside the day-to-day, internal expertise of Deborah Bowering as Chief Operating Officer. These appointments are set to drive FIS360’s mission of delivering innovative solutions and commercial excellence.

Board of Directors Appointments

Joining founder and CEO Frank Allison to form the new Board of Directors is Chairman Gordon Short. Gordon brings a wealth of experience in product, development, commercialisation, finance, investment, and corporate governance gained during his 38-year career in industry.

Having mentored over 50 spin-out and start-up companies and having chaired several successful enterprises, Gordon will provide invaluable insight as Chairman and non-executive director, ensuring FIS360 delivers cutting-edge innovations to the market.

Also joining the Board of Directors is our own Deborah Bowering, who at the same time moves into the role of Chief Operating Officer. Deborah brings her previous experience in industry and academia working on new processes, products, and services in sectors ranging from oil & gas to low carbon technology to pharmaceuticals.

This is coupled with Deborah’s in-depth knowledge of FIS360’s services, processes, and internal and external stakeholders, developed since joining the business as Operational and Programme Manager in 2021. Deborah’s leadership will be instrumental in delivering operational excellence and fostering innovation within the company.

FIS360 Advisory Group

In addition to the Board of Directors, FIS360 is delighted to introduce our Advisory Group comprising external advisors hand-picked from industry and academia. Our Chairman Gordon Short, alongside Derek Allen and Barry Lennox, are using their wealth and breadth of experience to give insight on a range of topics, providing networking opportunities and advising our business to support our operational and strategic decisions.

Derek Allen brings over 40 years of experience in the energy sector, specifically in power generation, R&D, and technology commercialisation. As former Head of the nuclear innovation programme at Innovate UK, Derek managed a portfolio exceeding £100 million, driving innovation in the nuclear sector. His expertise will help FIS360 deliver innovative solutions and strategic growth in the energy sector.

Barry Lennox, fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Professor of Applied Control and Nuclear Engineering Decommissioning at the University of Manchester, and the academic lead for the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Collaboration (RAICo), also joins the Advisory Group. Barry’s work includes the commercialisation of technology and the development of numerous robots for decommissioning nuclear facilities. His insights will be invaluable in ensuring FIS360 delivers groundbreaking innovations and technological advancements.
