Open Nuclear challenges launched

FIS360 will mark its successful bid to work in partnership with the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) to deliver their new Open Nuclear innovation programme with the launch of a series of technical challenges this week.

The FIS360 team of innovation and commercialisation specialists will help to deliver the programme that forms part of NNL’s Science and Technology Agenda, where innovation and investing in scientific research is fundamental to NNL’s work as a national laboratory.

The programme is designed to identify and support innovators who can develop technologies to help address NNL challenges and support NNL’s four focus areas of Health and Nuclear Medicine, Environmental Restoration, Security and Non-Proliferation, and Clean Energy. This approach is central to enabling NNL’s objective of supporting nuclear science to benefit society.

The programme starts this week with the publication on NNL’s Open Innovation platform of two new technical challenges. Funding will be available to help applicants develop a clear understanding of the feasibility and potential of their ideas.  Successful organisations will work in partnership with NNL to leverage unparalleled nuclear sector knowledge and expertise.

FIS360 CEO Frank Allison said: “We are again delighted to have the opportunity to further develop our close working relationship with NNL and to help them deliver an agenda that we are passionately committed to.”

Details of the first two challenges to be published through Open Nuclear are available at NNL Innovation (wazoku.com).
