Bursary success for FIS360 staff

FIS360 staff are augmenting their skills to further support the successful innovation programmes delivered by the company.

Kirstie Ryan and Alexandra Duesbury have been awarded funding through the UK Nuclear Industry Bursary Award Scheme, managed by NSAN and funded by the ECITB and NDA. Funding for project management training was awarded primarily because Alex and Kirstie met core criteria – being from under-represented groups (women in nuclear) and working for an SME. There is also an identified need for more project managers in the nuclear sector.

Alex and Kirstie both secured about half the money needed to follow accredited project management courses, with FIS360 paying for the remainder. Alex successfully completed her Association for Project Management (APM) project management fundamentals course and exam in August. Kirstie’s Prince2 project management training is in progress.

Project Manager Kirstie said: “It’s rewarding to know that, through our bursaries, we can further help guide organisations successfully through the challenges of technology commercialisation.  And I very much look forward to implementing all that I’m learning on the Prince2 course.”
